Your Weekly Review

Reading the roster and its statuses, the five alerts, approving pending adjustments, check-ins and weekly summary drafts, and reviewing form-check videos.

The coach dashboard is built for one pass a week through your roster: see who needs you, clear the review queue, read the check-ins, reply to form checks. This guide walks that pass in order.

The roster

The Clients card lists each client you coach. Each row shows their goal, current phase, week in the program, last workout, last weigh-in, a Paid or Free badge, and a status:

StatusMeans
InactiveNo workout logged in the last 7 days.
Check-in overdueNo daily check-in within this client's alert window.
Needs attentionThey are showing up, and a lift has stalled, a biomarker is out of range or the program clashes with their restrictions.
On trackNone of the above.

A client who is both inactive and overdue reads as Inactive, the worse of the two.

Filter by Goal, Status and Phase (the phase list includes Contest prep for every client in a prep cut or peak week), and sort by name, status, goal, phase or program week. Sorting by program week puts the longest-running blocks first, which is how you spot who is due a new one.

Review in order

Review in order opens the first client the roster shows, with Previous client and Next client links at the top of each page and a "Reviewing 3 of 12" counter. The order is the one your filters and sort left on screen, so filter to Needs attention first if that is where you want to start. The last client offers Finish review, back to the dashboard.

Alerts

The Alerts card names each client an alert is about and links to the right tab of their page. When nothing fires, it reads All clients on track this week.

AlertFires whenNeeds
Missed check-insNo daily check-in within the client's window (3 days unless you change it, between 1 and 14)Any access
InactiveNo workout in 7 daysAny access
Stalled progressionA lift has not beaten its best top set in 2 or more weeks and has stalled across its last 3 sessions. The alert names the liftTraining
Biomarkers out of rangeTheir latest bloodwork has a marker outside its reference rangeHealth
Program needs reviewA movement in their program is ruled out by a current injury, missing equipment or a tripTraining

Set a client's window with Flag a missed check-in after N days on their Overview tab. A contest prep might warrant 1 or 2 days; an off-season client might get a week.

Program needs review fires only for clients whose automatic changes wait for you. MuscleBuddy would otherwise swap the movement out itself; for a client you review, it keeps the program as you wrote it until you change it.

Pending adjustments

MuscleBuddy proposes changes as your clients log: a calorie change from their weigh-in trend, or a recovery deload. On each client's Overview tab, Review automatic adjustments before they apply decides what happens to them. It starts on.

  • On: proposals wait for you. Macro changes show on the client's Nutrition tab and deloads on the Training tab, each with Approve and Reject.
  • Off: proposals apply on their own, and you can still change anything afterwards.

The dashboard shows a Pending adjustments count and a Clients awaiting adjustments list. Each name opens that client's Pending adjustments page, which lists every proposal with its reason and the proposed numbers. With more than one waiting, Approve all as proposed clears them in one press; any that fail stay listed for a second look.

If you program a client's calories by hand, switching review off is the wrong switch. Turn off Adjust calories automatically from weigh-ins under Nutrition prescription instead, and their weigh-ins still reach you without writing a new plan.

Two coaches, one area

A client can have two coaches with the same access, say two nutrition coaches. The coach who started first decides that area's proposals. The second coach sees them marked "Reviewed by" the first coach, and their own settings for that area are saved but not applied.

Check-ins

With daily check-ins access, the Check-ins tab shows the last 30 days of check-ins: sleep, energy, recovery, water and their notes. You can comment on each day. Custom check-in fields adds your own questions to this client's daily check-in.

Check-in analysis and weekly summary drafts

Both of these use AI and run on the Pro your Coach tier includes. While MuscleBuddy's AI service is unavailable, no weekly drafts are written, and an on-demand analysis returns an error instead of a summary. Everything else on the page keeps working.

  • Check-in analysis on the Check-ins tab drafts a summary of the client's recent check-ins on demand: what stood out, anything worth a second look, and one focus for next week.
  • Draft a weekly check-in summary for me to review, on the client's Overview tab, does the same each Monday for the week just finished. The drafts land in Weekly summaries to review on your dashboard. Edit Summary to send and Next week in your own words, then send it to the client or dismiss it.

Nothing reaches the client until you send it. A client who has not allowed their data to go to a third-party AI, or who withdrew health-data consent, gets no draft.

Form-check videos

A client can attach a video of a set to a daily check-in when you hold their training access. Videos land under Form checks on the Check-ins tab. Watch it and reply in the thread under it.

The review is yours alone. MuscleBuddy does no pose estimation, gives no form score and passes no verdict on the footage. The video belongs to the client: you can watch it while you coach them, only they can delete it, and your access ends with the relationship.
