The fourth module: what you maintain, not just what you do

Training, Nutrition, and Health cover what you do today. Upkeep covers what runs on a longer clock: refill a prescription every 30 days, redraw bloodwork every 6 weeks, get a physical twice a year. Nothing else in MuscleBuddy tracks a cadence, and Upkeep is built around exactly that.

Drift-tolerant scheduling, not a streak to protect

Every Upkeep item carries a cadence, a last-done date, and a next-due date. When you mark it done, next-due re-anchors from that date, not from the original schedule. Miss a day and the next one doesn't move up to compensate; there's exactly one next-due per item, and it never accumulates a backlog.

Overdue is a state you can see, not a penalty or a broken streak. A cadence you can't fall behind on is one you'll actually keep.

Curated packs, editable defaults

Toggle on the packs that match your life: Oral care, Grooming, Daily habits, Longevity (sauna, cold, red light, breathwork), Circadian, Hair, Skin, Environment (pillowcases, filters), Clinical (dermatologist, eye exam, physical, redraws), and Piercing & tattoo aftercare. Each pack seeds a starting set of items with sane default cadences, and every one of them is yours to edit or remove.

An item belongs to exactly one pack, so toggling two overlapping packs never gives you the same act on two separate schedules.

Medications, appointments, and fasting windows

Log a medication and its cadence, and Upkeep tracks refill countdowns and adherence, both plainly arithmetic off what you entered. Appointments and progress photos live here too. Fasting windows and other protocol cadences feed the recovery picture Health reads, and explain gaps in your training or nutrition adherence instead of leaving them unexplained.

Every number Upkeep shows is exactly one of three things, and it says which: derived from your own entries, a cited reference range, or an adaptation the app made and can reverse. Nothing here rates you, grades your appearance, or shows up on a leaderboard.

One of four, reading the other three

Upkeep isn't a settings page bolted onto Health. It's a full module, with its own hub and its own primary nav tab, and it reads the same engine the other three do: a fasting window it's tracking can shift a training-time suggestion, and a missed medication can explain a recovery dip Health would otherwise leave unexplained.

Frequently asked

Is Upkeep part of the Health module?
No. Upkeep is its own primary module with its own hub at /upkeep, alongside Training, Nutrition, and Health. It used to live inside Health; it split out because maintenance cadences (weeks and months) are a different shape of tracking than daily vitals and bloodwork.
Does Upkeep diagnose or prescribe anything?
No. It stores what you log, flags cadences that are due or overdue, and cites reference information where relevant. It never diagnoses, prescribes, or grades your appearance.
What happens if I miss a cadence?
It shows as overdue. Next-due re-anchors from your last completion whenever you do it, so a missed day never snowballs into a backlog of the same item stacking up.
Is Upkeep free?
Yes. Every pack, item, and cadence in Upkeep is free on every tier.

Keep the cadences you keep forgetting
