Boilerplate
MuscleBuddy is a training and nutrition coaching app that adjusts your program and macro targets from the sets and weigh-ins you log, and explains every change it makes.
MuscleBuddy is a fitness coaching platform that runs training, nutrition, health and upkeep as four connected modules. It generates a training program around a member's goal, experience and equipment, progresses the load when their logged sets earn it, and moves calorie and macro targets off a rolling weigh-in trend, with a plain-language reason for every adjustment. The progression and nutrition math is rule-based and testable; AI handles coaching chat and check-in analysis. Coaches can manage clients in the same app and override any suggestion. MuscleBuddy was founded by Garrett Wilson and is operated by Garrett Makes It LLC. It is available on the web at musclebuddy.net and on Android, with a free tier and a Pro subscription.
What makes it different
Most fitness apps cover one thing: lifting, or food, or recovery. MuscleBuddy keeps training, nutrition, bloodwork and recovery, medications and appointments in one account, so a flare a member logs can cut that week’s training volume and a coach can see all of it.
The numbers members train and eat by come from published rules (double progression, linear, RPE, percentage and wave progression; a rolling weigh-in trend for calories), not from a language model, so every change can be checked. Each adjustment carries its reason.

Founder
Garrett Wilson built MuscleBuddy while training as an aspiring bodybuilder and managing autoimmune and other health conditions, after finding no app that held both. The full story is on the About page.
