Switch without starting over
Switch from MyFitnessPal without losing your history
Bring your food diary and weigh-in history over so your targets start informed.
How to export from MyFitnessPal
- On a desktop browser, sign in at myfitnesspal.com.
- Go to Settings, then Account, then "Download Your Data".
- Request the export. It is prepared in the background and a download link is emailed to you.
- Download the ZIP, then upload it here. There is no need to unpack it.
- The emailed download link expires after about a week, so grab the file when it arrives.
- MyFitnessPal lists the data export under its premium features, so check what your account includes before you start.
What comes across
• Daily calories and macros for every day you logged
• Your weigh-in history and any body measurements in the archive
• The meal each day’s totals were logged against
What your export cannot carry
• The nutrition export is summarised per meal per day rather than per food, so individual foods do not come across.
• Its vitamin columns are percentages of a daily value rather than amounts, so they are left out instead of being imported as if they were milligrams.
Every one of these is a property of the export file itself, not a guess. Anything the file does not contain is reported to you in the preview rather than filled in.
What imported data counts for
Your history, personal records, charts and analytics come with you. Ranks, XP and achievements are earned here, so imported sessions never move them.
That line is the whole deal, and it is deliberate. A rank anyone can produce with a spreadsheet is worth nothing, so ranks, XP, achievements, streaks and leaderboards are driven only by what you log here. Everything that describes your training rather than scoring it, which is your history, your personal records, your charts and your analytics, uses your imported data from day one.
How the import works
Upload a ZIP archive of CSV files and nothing is written yet. You get a preview first: how many rows of each kind, the date range they cover, which names matched automatically, and which need a decision from you.
When you approve it, the rows are written and stamped as part of that import. If a day already has an entry you made yourself, your own entry wins and the imported row is skipped, and the skip is counted and shown rather than quietly dropped.
Changed your mind? One button removes every row that import created and leaves everything else alone. You can upload the same file again months later too. Rows that already exist are skipped instead of duplicated, so you only ever gain what is new.
Your file, and how long we keep it
The uploaded file is stored privately for a short retention window so an import can be retried, then deleted. Undo keeps working after that, because it is keyed to the import rather than the file. Your account holds the data, and you can export it or delete your account at any time.
Frequently asked
- Why is there no per-food detail?
- The export itself only contains one row per meal per day. We import exactly what the file contains rather than inventing a breakdown that is not in it.
- What do my old food logs actually do here?
- They feed your intake charts, your nutrition analytics, and the weigh-in trend that adjusts your calorie target, so the app starts with a real picture of how you eat.
- Can I undo an import?
- Yes. Every row an import writes is stamped with that import, so one button removes all of it and leaves anything you logged yourself untouched. You can also upload the same file again later. Rows that already exist are skipped rather than duplicated.
